Description Two young girls are under an apple tree in bloom on John and Belle Edens' Farm on Guemes Island. (Girls may be Edens' daughters Maud and Mittie. Maude Edens Henderson donated photos to the HPP.) House at right. In 1890 Edens served as senator in the first state legislature convened in Olympia. He married Belle Eldridge, daughter of Whatcom pioneer Edward and Teresa Eldridge, in1881. For additional family history and other photos of Edens farm and family see We 0051, 0052.
