Description The Odlin house is located at 1304 32nd on the NW corner of 32nd and M. The 11/22/1928, ANACORTES AMERICAN stated that the Odlin's home was "one of the show pieces of the city." William T. Odlin, a banker, moved to Anacortes in 1899 and founded Citizen's Bank at Commercial and 8th, according to his obituary. His actions restored banking service to Anacortes, which had been without any since the 1893 depression closed the town's banks. Odlin's bank specialized in handling lumber, shingle, and canning industry accounts. On 1-5-1905, the ANACORTES AMERICAN reported that W. T. Odlin proved "faithful to the town, its institutions, and citizens through the dark days and into the light." Shortly afterward, on 4-6-1905, the paper reported that W. T. Odlin of Citizen's Bank was to build a "fine brick or stone" building at the corner of Commercial and 7th. Odlin served as mayor of Anacortes in 1906. Hibler family lived in this house many years. The house still stands today (07-2011).
