Credit line Donated by Dennis Hamburg
Notes Items originally in possession of donor's father Norm Hamburg, former captain of W T PRESTON.

Donor states that when he worked on a ferry, the VASHON, he would tighten the ropes going from the large wooden steering wheel to the rudder by loosening the top screw of the rope fastener, pulling the ropes taut, then tightening the screw again.

Donor's father and grandfather worked from 1899-1969 on all three snagboats.
