Catalog Number 2005.025.022.001+.002
Object Name Jug, Whiskey
Description White ceramic "moonshine" jug (2005.025.022.001) with cork (2005.025.022.002). This jug was used during the prohibition days of 1920-1933 and as early as the 1890s. Moonshine was smuggles all over the area, including across the Canadian border. Our "famous" smuggler, Lawrence (Larry) Kelly, may have used jugs like this. There were stills on Fidalgo Island and the area.
