Object Name Punch, lead weight
Description Lead puncher (donor's term for tool) Bought by donor after WWII and used to shape weights for his father's purse seiner, the HOLLYWOOD. Donor states tool was used to straighten out the hollowed centers of lead fishing weights. Metal press 9.5" high with a 19.5"-long arm sits on a metal plate 12" x 9.25". Press sits on and is nailed onto two wooden blocks, one 10" long x 2.5" wide and 1.5" deep, and the other 9.5" long x 3.5" wide x 1.5" deep. These blocks sit on a rectangular wood timber (probably fir) 22" long, 9.5" high, and 9.5" wide. Also includes 5 hollowed-out lead weights, 1" to 1.25" high, approx. 1" wide (2007.012.002-.006), and one pin, 9" x 3/4", rusted, (2007.012.007). Also included is a metal extension for the handle.
