Catalog Number 2006.009.001
Object Name Purse
Description Small, ivory colored purse with colored Oriental design given to Sarah Boynton by Japanese family, who were neighbors. From the museum research folder, it can be concluded that the neighbors were Charlie Tanikawa, his wife and two daughters. In 1941 they were sent to an internment camp in California, and returned to Japan after WWII. Sarah continued to write the family for many years. The purse has a chain centered at the top with a large plastic "button".
