Object Name Pin, Promotional
Description Two oval .5" x 1" pins are inscribed with "Anacortes Railway" on the outer yellow circumference; inside the oval is a black steam locomotive. They are a commerative pin of the Anacortes Railway which was created and run by Tommy Thompson. The inaugural run was in 1979. Engine No. 1 is an 0-4-4 Forney type steam locomotive, weight 4 1/2 tons, and burns fir bark. The locomotive and three luxurious passenger cars were built in the Railway's backyard foundry and machine shop by Thomas G. Thompson, Jr. of Anacortes between 1965 and 1979.
