.001) Dustpan from local business. Inside pan is stamped: "MOSIER Furniture Co., Furniture and Appliances, Juvenile Beds and Buggies, Anacortes, Wash., Phone 3405". This store was located at 317 Commercial Avenue in at least 1952 and 1954 (not listed in the 1948 or 1955 directory - we do not have 1949 or 1950 or 1951 to check. This green dustpan is in the form of a triangular cone. The bottom side is flat while the other 2 sides (all one piece of metal, just bent) meet at the center in a curved shaped over the bottom piece but not touching it. Was probably used in the Mosier Furniture store to tidy up and clean the floors or other places, as needed.
.002) The handle detaches from the dustpan in the shape of an upside-down "Y" and is made of metal. It attaches to the pan through holes in the body sides, and enables the pan and handles to swing loosely to sweep dirt into the pan. The handle is made of a metal rod which has been twisted and bent into the shape it is.
